The Console Project

The initial idea for the project is based on an undefined mobile console to be used by children at the Children's Museum in Oslo to interact and communicate with the exhibits as well as with other children and their consoles.

The console will be handed out to the children as they enter the museum. With their console, children are able to move around the museum as explorers, collecting digital artifacts (see console.museum for more information) from each exhibit with their console. These digital artifacts may include sounds, pictures and 3D elements associated with each exhibit. In addition to collecting, children can also interact with each other by exchanging these artifacts with the other children through their consoles.
